Early Bird
Now I have never been much of a morning person, but when Yardbird sent out invitations for Sunday Brunch, I accepted immediately. Yardbird Southern Table & Bar has branches in Miami, Las Vegas & Los Angeles. Although it has been in Marina Bay Sands for some time as The Bird, this weekend it launched a new brand concept as well as new menus. Now soaring as Yardbird Singapore, it sets a new standard for Southern hospitality.
Make American Brunch Great Again
#YardbirdSingapore
Since Yardbird counts Great American Brunch among their menus, promising “foot-stompin’, soul-healin’ brunch on the weekends”, I arrived hungry. In fact, I had second helpings of everything they placed before me. The smoked salmon avocado toast, chicken & egg biscuit sandwich and fried green tomato with pork belly were my favourites.
Brunch of Champions
While the interior of Yardbird Singapore is beautiful, my two favourite parts are both bloody mary bars upstairs & downstairs. Although I was offered a classic, tropical and spicy bloody mary, I exercised great restraint and only tried the spicy one. However, it was so delicious, I simply had to have another.
Southern Hospitality
Not only did Yardbird feed me, they also took great care of Little M5. Chef Leonard Delgado spent time decorating gingerbread men with her. Presently, she put together some Christmas tree ornaments as well as a badge, before getting some sticker tattoos. She had heaps fun, running between the activity stations and her funfetti pancakes.
Yardstick Of A Good Yardbird Meal
There are a couple of reliable yardsticks by which you can measure a good meal.
One of them is how much your date, who is a fussy feeder, eats. I sometimes bring my six-year-old with me for food tasting events, like Frunatic Food Therapy. Well, Little M5, had five times as many helpings of Funfetti pancakes as I had waffles and I love waffles.
In fact, after we left, she asked if we could return with her siblings. With the memory of this Great American Brunch fresh in my mind, how could I say no?
